Chahal-Dhanashree Divorce: Family Refutes Rs 60 Crore Alimony Rumors
New Delhi, February 21, 2025 – Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, have officially filed for divorce, their legal representatives confirmed. However, recent rumors claiming that Dhanashree has demanded Rs 60 crore in alimony have been strongly denied by her family.
Family Slams Alimony Reports
In response to widespread speculation, a family member of Dhanashree issued a statement condemning the unverified claims circulating online.
"We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims about the alimony figure. No such demand has been made, nor has any offer been extended. These rumors are completely false. Publishing such misinformation without verification only causes unnecessary distress to both families. We urge the media to act responsibly and respect privacy," the statement read.
Divorce Not Final Yet
Contrary to certain reports suggesting that the divorce has already been finalized, Dhanashree’s lawyer, Aditi Mohan, clarified that the case is still in court.
"I have no comments to make on the proceedings as the matter is sub judice. However, I urge the media to fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated," Mohan stated.
Social Media Reactions from Chahal and Dhanashree
Both Chahal and Dhanashree have shared cryptic messages on their respective social media handles, hinting at their personal struggles.
Chahal posted, “God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I've been rescued that I don't even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don't know it.”
Dhanashree, meanwhile, shared a reflective note on faith, stating, “From stressed to blessed. Isn't it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you're stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying or surrender it all to God.”
With legal proceedings ongoing, both parties have requested privacy as they navigate this difficult period.
