Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 8: Vicky Kaushal's Film Enters Week 2 with ₹241 Crore

Chhaava, the historical epic starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna, continues its remarkable run at the box office. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film explores the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the legendary Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Box Office Performance

According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava has collected ₹22.50 crore net in India on its second Friday, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹241.75 crore. The film opened to a stellar ₹31 crore on its first day and saw strong momentum over its opening weekend, earning ₹37 crore on Saturday and ₹48.5 crore on Sunday.

Despite being a weekday, Chhaava maintained steady numbers throughout the first week and even witnessed a spike on Wednesday, adding ₹32 crore to its total. By the end of its first week, the film had amassed ₹219.25 crore net in India.

On the global front, Chhaava has crossed ₹310.50 crore in its first week, making it one of the highest-grossing films of the year so far.

Vicky Kaushal Expresses Gratitude

Vicky Kaushal, who plays the titular role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, took to social media to express his gratitude for the overwhelming love the film has received.

"All your messages, calls… all the videos you all are sharing of your experience of watching Chhaava… I’m seeing it all, taking it all in. Thank you for all your love. Grateful to each and every one of you for celebrating the glory of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj,” the actor shared on Instagram.

About the Film

Chhaava is an adaptation of Shivaji Sawant's Marathi novel of the same name and is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. The film chronicles the bravery and sacrifices of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Rashmika Mandanna portrays Yesubai Bhonsale, Sambhaji's wife, while Akshaye Khanna plays the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The ensemble cast also features Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Vineet Kumar Singh.

Released on February 14, Chhaava has already been declared tax-free in Goa and Madhya Pradesh, further boosting its box office performance.

As Chhaava enters its second week, trade analysts predict that the film will continue its strong momentum, with a high chance of crossing the ₹300 crore mark domestically in the coming days.
