Axelrod, reflecting on the interview, posted on social media platform X: "The president is rightfully proud of his record. Today, he is six points behind."
Concerns About Biden's Abilities in Polls
During the interview, Stephanopoulos referenced two polls conducted by the New York Times and NBC, both indicating that President Biden trails by nearly six points in the popular vote. Stephanopoulos noted the narrow victory margin in the Electoral College during the 2020 election, despite winning the popular vote by seven million votes. When confronted with the current polling data, President Biden responded, "I do not buy that."
