Hot Air Balloons Set to Soar Over London on Sunday
This Sunday, dozens of hot air balloons will grace London's skyline for the first time since 2019. The much-anticipated Lord Mayor's Hot Air Balloon Regatta is scheduled for July 21, with a standby date of July 28 in case of unsuitable weather.

Date and Time: The regatta is set for July 21, with an expected launch time around 05:00 BST. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the event will move to July 28.
Location: The balloons will launch from Battersea Park and are planned to pass by iconic landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London, and Tower Bridge.
Participation: Around 50 hot air balloons are expected to participate, led by the Lord Mayor Michael Mainelli.

Purpose and Beneficiaries
The regatta aims to raise awareness and funds for the Lord Mayor's Appeal, supporting three charities:
MQ Mental Health Research: Focused on mental health research.
Homewards: A charity dedicated to addressing homelessness.
National Numeracy: Working to improve math skills across London.
Since its inception in 2015, the event has raised over £250,000.

Event History
2019: The last regatta saw 46 hot air balloons launch from Battersea Park at 05:30 BST.
2020-2021: The event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
2022-2023: Poor weather conditions led to the event being stood down.
