IIM Ahmedabad Faces Pressure from Students to Investigate Campus Tragedy
Following the death of Akshith Bhukya, a final-year student, the IIM Ahmedabad Students' Affairs Council is demanding a thorough investigation into the incident. The council has expressed dissatisfaction with the administration's handling of the matter and is calling for a high-level committee to probe the circumstances surrounding Bhukya’s alleged suicide. In an email to the Director and other officials, the council highlighted the mental strain Bhukya faced due to disputes with administration over the organization of the Red Bricks Summit (TRBS). Despite the ongoing police investigation, students have raised concerns over transparency, urging institutional support to ensure fairness. Bhukya’s family has also expressed frustration with the slow progress in the investigation, seeking justice for their son. The lack of official response from IIM-A has further deepened the mistrust within the student body, leading to continued calls for accountability.
