Geneva: India strongly criticized Pakistan at the 58th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), rejecting its misinformation on Jammu and Kashmir and labeling it a failed state that survives on international handouts.

Speaking at the seventh meeting of the sessionKshitij Tyagi, representing India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Genevadenounced Pakistan’s baseless allegations and accused its leadership of using global platforms for propaganda rather than addressing its internal crises.

India Calls Out Pakistan’s ‘Military-Terrorist Complex’

Tyagi took a firm stance, asserting that Pakistan has long misused international forums to push an anti-India narrative instead of focusing on its own domestic failures.

"It is regrettable that Pakistan’s leaders and representatives continue to spread falsehoods scripted by its military-terrorist complex. Pakistan has made a mockery of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), misusing it as a propaganda tool. It is unfortunate that this Council’s time is being wasted by a failed state that thrives on instability and depends on international aid to survive," he stated.

‘Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Are Inseparable from India’

Rejecting Pakistan’s persistent claims on Kashmir, India reaffirmed that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are, and will always be, an integral part of India.

"The remarkable political, social, and economic transformation in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years speaks volumes about the progress the region has achieved. These developments reflect the trust people have placed in the government’s efforts to bring stability to an area that has suffered due to decades of Pakistan-backed terrorism," Tyagi asserted.

‘Pakistan Must Abandon Its Obsession With India’

India further urged Pakistan to stop its relentless fixation on India and instead prioritize governance, economic stability, and human rights within its own borders.

"India is committed to democracy, progress, and ensuring dignity for its people. These are values that Pakistan should learn from rather than engaging in baseless rhetoric," Tyagi said.

India’s Diplomatic Push at the UN Security Council

India’s strong response at the UNHRC follows earlier remarks by Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, at a UN Security Council (UNSC) open debate on February 19.

Harish had categorically dismissed Pakistan’s Kashmir propaganda, stating that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has always been and will always remain an integral part of India.

"The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan have misrepresented an inseparable part of India. I reaffirm that Jammu and Kashmir is, was, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India," Harish declared at the UNSC.

India Counters Pakistan’s Misinformation on Global Platforms

India has consistently exposed Pakistan’s false narratives at international forums, urging the global community to recognize Pakistan’s governance failures, economic distress, and sponsorship of extremism.

As India continues to adopt a firm diplomatic approach, Pakistan’s repeated attempts to internationalize the Kashmir issue have been met with strong resistance from India and minimal support from the global community.
