Kantara Star Rishab Shetty Wins Best Actor at 70th National Film Awards

New Delhi: The winners of the 70th National Film Awards were announced, highlighting the finest achievements in Indian cinema for the year 2022. In a ceremony held on Friday by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Kannada actor and director Rishab Shetty was honored with the Best Actor award for his remarkable performance in the film Kantara.

The awards recognize films certified by the censor board between January 1 and December 31, 2022. The recipients, including the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner, will be celebrated in a ceremony presided over by President Droupadi Murmu in October 2024.

In the previous year’s 69th National Film Awards, notable winners included Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, and Pankaj Tripathi. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect won Best Feature Film, while SS Rajamouli's RRR took home six awards.

Rishab Shetty’s win at the 70th National Film Awards further cements his status as a significant force in Kannada cinema, following the widespread acclaim for Kantara.
