Kupwara Infiltration Attempt Thwarted; Two Militants Killed by Security Forces

On October 4, 2024, two terrorists were killed during a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara district. The operation, named "Gugaldhar," was launched after receiving intelligence reports about an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC). The militants were intercepted by security forces during a night-time operation, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Both terrorists were neutralized, and the army recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition, indicating that the terrorists were heavily armed.
