Mike Lindell's MyPillow Sued by DHL Over $800,000 in Unpaid Bills
Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow and well-known conservative activist, is facing legal trouble again, this time from package delivery company DHL. According to a lawsuit filed in Minneapolis on Monday, DHL is claiming that Lindell’s company owes around $800,000 in unpaid bills. DHL asserts that MyPillow failed to pay for services rendered within 15 days of billing, violating the contract between the two companies.
Settlement Agreement and Partial Payment
The legal dispute is based on a settlement reached between DHL and MyPillow in May 2023, where MyPillow agreed to pay $775,000 in 24 monthly installments beginning in April 2023. However, according to the complaint, Lindell's company has only paid a fraction of the settlement, around $65,000. After failing to meet the terms of the agreement, DHL notified MyPillow of the default in July 2023. The current lawsuit seeks the full amount owed, plus interest and attorney fees, which could significantly increase the total payment.
Legal Troubles Continue for Lindell
This lawsuit adds to Lindell’s already lengthy legal battles. Earlier this year, a judge ordered Lindell to pay $5 million to a software engineer who debunked data Lindell had used to support his false claims of China interfering in the 2020 U.S. Presidential election. In addition, Lindell has faced issues with the FBI, which seized his phone in connection to an investigation into voting system data breaches in Colorado.
Lindell’s financial situation also appears strained, as court records show he is representing himself in this case, with no attorneys listed. In previous defamation cases, Lindell’s attorneys withdrew due to non-payment.
Potential Consequences
If DHL's lawsuit is successful, the financial strain on MyPillow could worsen. With interest and legal fees, the amount Lindell owes could exceed the initial $800,000, putting additional pressure on the embattled CEO. This case marks another significant challenge for Lindell, who has been embroiled in various legal disputes since his promotion of election-related conspiracy theories.
