Washington – Vivek Ramaswamy’s abrupt departure from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has ignited discussions about internal dynamics within the organization and his contentious views on American hiring practices.

Ramaswamy, 39, an entrepreneur-turned-public servant, co-led DOGE alongside Elon Musk before announcing his plans to run for Ohio Governor in 2026. His exit is being attributed to a controversial post on X, formerly Twitter, where he criticized American companies for prioritizing foreign-born engineers under the H-1B visa program over U.S.-born talent. The post, which gained over 118 million views and sparked a fierce debate, claimed that this hiring trend was emblematic of a cultural “veneration of mediocrity.”

Sources familiar with the situation suggest that Musk pushed for Ramaswamy’s removal following the controversy. According to Politico, the decision reflected Musk’s growing influence within DOGE and the incoming Trump administration. A Republican strategist close to Trump’s inner circle commented, “The tweet just accelerated what many already wanted—to see him leave DOGE.”

Despite his departure, Ramaswamy has voiced support for the broader goals of DOGE and Trump’s administration. In a statement on X, he wrote, “It was my honor to help support the creation of DOGE. I’m confident that Elon & team will succeed in streamlining government. I’ll have more to say very soon about my future plans in Ohio. Most importantly, we’re all-in to help President Trump make America great again!”

As Ramaswamy gears up for his gubernatorial campaign, his comments on American culture and immigration policies have sparked a national conversation. While supporters praise his stance as bold and necessary, critics argue it reflects a narrow view of the complexities of global hiring practices.

With Ohio Governor Mike DeWine stepping down due to term limits, Ramaswamy is positioning himself as a prominent Republican candidate. However, his controversial exit from DOGE and his relationship with Musk and Trump may shape the narrative around his campaign and political future.
