Can you share a bit about your early life and education?
My journey began in the EMS sector, where I served as a medic on an ambulance and had the privilege of being part of the EMS helicopter team. I received my medical education through the Norwegian Air Ambulance Service. After 20 years of service, I felt it was time for a change and returned to university to study applied physics and cybersecurity.
Pioneering UAV Solutions: The Birth of Two Companies
Tell us about your business and its market presence
I have founded two companies: Avion Robotic AS, which develops unmanned helicopters. My interest in technology and drones led me to recognize a gap in the market for heavy-lift drones. To address this, a friend and I developed the Phoenix platform. However, due to high development costs, we have paused this project and are now utilizing an off-the-shelf airframe to create a specialized solution for wildfires and disaster relief.
I also co-founded AURORES BORÉALES AS with my wife, who is a Global PMO for Element Logic AS and an exceptional project manager. Our company focuses on consulting and an emerging segment in border safety, using a drone with up to 52 hours of endurance and advanced sensor technology.
Ambitious Plans for Future Growth
What growth and expansion plans do you have in the pipeline?
For Avion Robotic AS, we expect to have a proof of concept ready for demonstration soon. This will lay a solid foundation for our organization and position us to be market-ready shortly after. Once we have established a strong industry presence, we plan to develop our own airframe. Fortunately, we have an outstanding engineering team capable of turning this vision into reality.
As for AURORES BORÉALES AS, stay tuned for upcoming growth and expansion plans—we have exciting developments underway, but I can’t share details just yet.

What makes your business stand out in today’s competitive market?
Avion Robotic AS differentiates itself by pioneering a new segment in the UAV market for VTOL heavy-lift drones, capable of carrying up to 1,500 kg of external payloads. This allows for highly effective firefighting and disaster relief operations, with an endurance of around three hours—outperforming electric UAVs.
AURORES BORÉALES AS stands out due to its advanced sensors and impressive endurance. While we are not a defense company, we leverage the same cutting-edge technology as commercial entities.

I believe it’s essential for the team to share your vision and goals, as this fosters a strong sense of unity. Additionally, I recommend maintaining a balanced mix of men and women in the team, as diverse perspectives contribute to a well-rounded and dynamic work environment.
