I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where I grew up as the middle child in my family. My older sister, Angela, had a severe disability, which meant she required a lot of attention. My younger sister, Mylinda, was the baby of the family—she was spoiled and received much of the attention I lacked. This left me feeling somewhat overlooked and pushed me to become independent at a young age. I had to mature quickly and learn to take care of myself. At just 12 years old, I began working to not only help support my family financially but also to provide for my own needs and find a sense of independence. These early experiences instilled in me a strong work ethic and the determination to create my own path in life, which ultimately led me to entrepreneurship.
