Driven by a desire for knowledge, he continued to Odoro Ikono Secondary School, graduating with a West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate in 2000.

In 2003, Dr. Okon enrolled at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), where he studied Physical Oceanography. His dedication to his studies paid off as he graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) in 2008, ranking among the top students in his class. His quest for further learning led him to Charkins Maritime Academy in Port Harcourt, where he obtained a certificate in Maritime Safety that same year. Recognizing the importance of continuous education, he later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Shipping Management and Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) in 2018, and is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in the same field.

Dr. Okon began his professional career as a Protocol/Logistics Officer at Century Energy Services Limited, where he worked from 2009 to 2013. His career took a significant turn when he joined Ocean Marine Tankers as Logistics Manager in 2013, a position he held until 2015. In February 2011, he founded Wrightlinks Logistics Services Limited, specialising in logistics and general services for the Oil & Gas and Maritime sectors.
